ABOUT SHEILA MONAHAN

Ever since Sheila was a child she has had a passion to create. Whether
it’s a wire emu, a ceramic rhino, a sculptured head, an ancient old face,
a beaded lobster or just a simple snail drawing, its Sheila’s love and
respect for these wonderful creatures and human nature that has
inspired and motivated her work as an Artist. Added to this is her love of
anatomy, expression and form, expressed through the mediums of clay,
and mixed media, that has been the back bone of her work.

“Clay is just such a wonderful medium to work with! It is cheeky and
messy and does not always behave itself! It often starts off as one thing
and transforms itself into something else! But this is what inspires me so
much about the beauty of art in all its shape and forms. The licence to
experiment and have fun and see what happens next! And to share the
journey and to be inspired by fellow artists along the way is the greatest
gift of all”.
