Evelyn believes that an inclusive community respects engagement and contribution from all and has encouraged these values within all aspects of Mixed Palette Inc. especially for those participants who have an intellectual disability. Evelyn has organized workshops, exhibitions and community projects that enable this engagement and contribution to take place and provide opportunity to discuss creative self expression as a vehicle for demonstrating Mixed Palette’s approach to inclusion.

JULIANNE RYAN

.Volunteer Artist, Mentor

Julianne was the Arts Coordinator for Mixed Palette Inc. for 10 years and is the arts mentor for one of our participants who, under her direction, has held solo exhibitions in Melbourne and in Mandurah. Julianne encourages creative independence and the development of uniquely personal styles of work that enables the artists to sell their work and develop as emerging artists.

Mardi has been closely involved with Mixed Palette Inc. for several years and became more directly connected during the past years, through supporting her sister Rebecca, an artist and founding member of Mixed Palette Inc. Mardi strongly believes in the group's core values of inclusion and proudly supports their work in the community.

KATHERINE LESLIE

'Stories from Near and Far' - Online Coordinator

Kate Leslie is from Perth, Western Australia. Kate graduated with a bachelor of Arts (Art) from Curtin University in 2004. Since then she has been self-practicing and has held studio spaces and exhibitions at The Kurb Gallery and Gotham Studios. Leslie has exhibited in Australia and New Zealand and recently completed a residency in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. Leslie is currently residing in Wellington where she is working on new body of works from her studio in
Mt Victoria.
 
Kate's painting's are a lush distortion of her direct environment, she produces romanticized depictions of the familiar. Her first point of engagement with her work is colour, producing paintings that are worked and layered and inspired by different people, places and the environments that interest her.

Kate is currently working with Mixed Palette Inc. and through a CAN Grant, we have produced video tutorials, and Kate is coordinating a series of  pilot online art workshops. Facilitating and having direct contact with participants throughout the 10 weeks of workshops.

Weekly Art Workshops

Our weekly art workshops are designed to provide an inclusive art environment for any artist from novice to professional.  These workshops run every Friday from 10am to 12pm (excluding public holidays and school holidays).

Art Specialist Workshops

Unlike our other weekly sessions these specialist workshops connect local Perth artists to a inclusive art environment, Through their guidance you will get to explore various new mediums, which changes every month. Held on the first Friday of every month ongoing from February 2020.

What is Mixed Palette Inc.?

CEO Mixed Palette Inc

Mixed Palette Inc. is a not for profit organization. We provide weekly art workshops at low cost, participate in exhibitions and develop other projects in line with our organizations objectives.

We are passionate about the value of inclusive communities and the unique contribution that every person is able to make within the community. We strive to ensure that this uniqueness and contribution is validated within all our activities.

No previous experience with the art materials is needed. We do ask that you contact us prior to attending so that we are better able to meet your needs on the day. Our arts coordinator and our group of enthusiastic and talented artists provide support and encouragement in experimenting with different mediums and techniques and developing your personal style.
We run specialist workshops, organize exhibitions and other projects, and hold market stalls to help promote Mixed Palette Inc.’s vision and the sale of artists work.
